As a completely unexpected result of my no-shopping challenge, this year on my 39th birthday I stopped wearing makeup. A year ago that never would have happened specifically because I decided early on that cosmetics would be exempt from the challenge. My reasoning was that because I have rosacea and use prescription products to tone down my skin’s redness, I also need to wear foundation and concealer.   1.Don’t mention that it’s a piece on the slipperiness of the term ‘sustainability.’ 2.Use an attractive and provocative featured image. 3. Avoid using the term paradigm at all costs. 4.Use the current meme of titling posts as lists of things and then reference it as a sly way of getting people to read a post that isn’t about lists. 5. Make up a half-clever list to make sure people aren’t too annoyed when they realize #4 is true.

So– the universe, as we understand it, is a slightly less mysterious place today. CERN in Geneva has announced that there is a reasonable chance that the Higgs boson, a particle that underlies the basic fabric of the universe, has peeked out from behind the veil and announced it’s likelihood.
